Indianapolis Injury Lawyers Since 1996: About Poynter & Bucheri

Donald Poynter and Rich Bucheri opened Poynter & Bucheri, LLC in Indianapolis in November 1996. Both finished law school in Indianapolis that same year. The plan then is the plan now: when someone in central Indiana is hurt because another person was careless, they deserve a lawyer close to home who explains things straight and keeps the insurance company honest.

The attorneys

Donald L. Poynter

Don grew up in Morgantown, in southern Morgan County. He studied economics at Indiana University in Bloomington, graduating in 1992, then earned his law degree at the IU law school in Indianapolis in 1996, the year he was admitted to practice in Indiana. He is also admitted in the federal courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana. His work centers on injured people: car, truck and motorcycle crashes and falls. He rides motorcycles himself, so he knows what it's like to share a road with drivers who aren't looking. Don is the responsible attorney for this site.

Richard C. Bucheri

Rich graduated from Indiana University's business school in 1993 and earned his law degree in Indianapolis in 1996, joining the Indiana bar that year. He is admitted in the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana. He handles auto and truck crash cases, falls and wrongful death claims. Before law, he owned a restaurant and bar, which gives him a practical view of cases where a business served alcohol to a driver who later caused a crash.

John D. Norman

John was born in Beech Grove and grew up in Greenwood, so the south side is home. He has a history degree from Indiana University (2011), a master's degree from Valparaiso University (2014), and his law degree from the IU Robert H. McKinney School of Law in Indianapolis (2017). He was admitted in Indiana and in the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana in 2017. He works on car and semi-truck crashes and property injury cases.
