Johnson County starts just south of our Madison Avenue office, and attorney John Norman grew up in Greenwood. Plenty of south-siders drive US 31 or I-65 into Greenwood every day. Busy retail corridors, new subdivisions and long rural stretches all share the county.
Where crashes happen
- I-65, with Greenwood exits at County Line Road (101), Main Street (99) and Worthsville Road (97), then south through Whiteland and Franklin
- US 31 through Greenwood, with signals, driveways and turning traffic most of the day
- SR 135 on Greenwood's west side and south toward Bargersville
- County Line Road, the Marion County line, where which side you were on decides which police respond
- Rural two-lane roads in the southern half of the county, where farm equipment meets higher speeds
Who writes the report
City and town police such as Greenwood and Franklin; the Johnson County Sheriff's Office in unincorporated areas; and the Indiana State Police on I-65.
Courts
Johnson County's courts are in Franklin, the county seat.
